Host Home Volunteers Still Needed
One tangible way to ensure everyone living here has access to shelter and safety is to sign up to be a host home volunteer. Our host home program has been successfully operating since 2022 and has served to launch local young people in brighter futures thanks to the ability to live safely and stably for a few needed months.
However, more host homes are needed to meet the specific needs of candidates. Because we do tailored and thoroughly vetted matches between a young person and a host home, we often need other options due to timing or transportation needs. To be a host home volunteer, you need to be 25 years of age or older, have a private room that can be occupied for a time-limited period for free, have home insurance, live within cell reception, and be able to support the dignity of a young person with differing racial, gender, class, ability, faith, sexuality, or culture than your own.
