Ways to Give
When you support Room One today, you will become part of a community of people committed to advocating for the health and well-being of all people living in the Methow Valley.
We are so grateful for the amazing people who dedicate their time to supporting the operations of Room One. We also value providing meaningful opportunities to anyone who is wanting more experience in community-based social services. If you are interested in volunteering with Room One, please complete the online application. We will contact you to talk about the best fit for you given your skills, interests, and availability.
When you make monthly donations to Room One today, you help to provide a reliable flow of income that helps us to conceive, plan, and execute more effective ways to do our work.
For those who are 70 1/2 years or older, you can donate up to $100,000/year from your IRA to a qualified charity, such as Room One, without having to pay income taxes on that money. For those who are 73 or older, you can donate all or part of your required minimum distributions. Talk with your financial advisor about how to give from your IRA or give through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington and make a note that you'd like your gift to be applied directly to Room One.
When you donate appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and there are no capital gains to pay. For stock held in brokerage accounts, your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock to Room One via the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
A bequest is a gift you make through your estate. You may make a bequest for a specific amount, for specified assets, or for a percentage of your estate. To find out more about this option, call your attorney and tell them you want to include a charitable bequest in your will or estate plans.
If you haven’t done your will yet or don’t have an attorney, we have a list of Professional Advisors from across the region that can help.
Make your gift go twice as far! If your employer offers a gift matching program, you can double your efforts to support our important work. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and spouses. Talk to your employer about whether or not that's something your company offers!
