New Room One Client Services Building Planned!
Room One will be breaking ground soon in the side yard of the Lincoln Street property to build a new Client Services Building! With a generous infrastructure grant from a private foundation and a full staff and busy programming, the time has come to expand.
Staff and clients have been working with Jeremy Newman and Allison Ciancibelli of Intrinsic Design to create a welcoming space where everyone feels they can belong. The building will offer a client kitchen, emergency food pantry, a private client room for telehealth and other essential services appointments, and two publicly accessible computers. There will be 5 client meeting rooms for our advocates and two larger spaces for community meetings, parenting groups and other support groups.
Jim Salter with Blackcap Construction will be leading the build of Phase I over 2022. Room One work will continue uninterrupted next door in our current building. We will be doing more community consultations about needs and opportunities we have with Phase II, the second building which will eventually take the place of the current older manufactured home which houses Room One now. Well loved spaces like the Baby Item Exchange will be given fresh treatment and have places where toddlers can play while their parents find what they need.
We are grateful for all of the community support which has allowed us to grow to what we are today. And we look forward to meeting expanded community needs and opportunities with these new spaces!
