Our Room One Advocacy Team went to Olympia with one of our partner organizations, Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) in support of immigrant rights to healthcare and unemployment insurance.
Our Room One Advocacy Team went to Olympia with one of our partner organizations, Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network(WAISN) in support of immigrant rights to healthcare and unemployment insurance. Local community leaders Aurora and Jessica joined our team. This year, WAISN's priorities included an ask to move legislation forward that would create a permanent unemployment program for undocumented workers , and two different budget provisos that would provide funding for much needed resources. We had the opportunity to meet with our District 7 House Representatives and connect around issues that impact our rural areas most, as well as asking them about their current legislative projects and priorities.
